Your Part

Jesus is the wellspring of life itself.  Through His word and those who deliver it, He calls to all who are hungry, thirsty, downtrodden -- so that they may have the water of life itself - peace, comfort, and hope.  These are things obviously missing among hundreds of thousands of refugees of Eastern Africa, particularly southern Sudan and the refugee camps in Kenya and Uganda.  Instead, their lifestyle is that of intense suffering - of persecution, starvation, separation, and hopelessness and sometimes even the threat of slavery.

As caring people, we have only two choices: we can turn our backs, unable to deal with this horrific situation, or we can run to help.

What is "Fulaa"?  Not some strange kind of African animal or Sudanese superman.  Fulaa means "waterfall" in the Madi language of the Sudanese people.  It signifies the abundant hope available through Jesus Christ, the Living Water. Fulaa is a practical arm of hope for the displaced Sudanese.  Its goal is to demonstrate in real, practical ways, an outreach of love to the destitute who have little but their very lives and their faith in Jesus Christ and His saving grace.

Fulaa Lifeline International is assisting the newly arrived refugees in metropolitan Washington DC with immediate material needs and caring friendship.  Fulaa gives information, direction, and communication services as well as help with emergency food, clothing, shelter, and medical needs.

Fulaa is also involved in meeting needs of southern Sudan refugees who still reside in Africa.  One effort is to provide medical supplies to the displaced people in refugee camps in southern Sudan and in the neighboring countries of Uganda and Kenya.  There are also projects to provide bicycles for itinerant pastor and ox-plows to refugees, with the effort to help them to provide for themselves rather than depend on welfare for subsistence.

Fulaa runs the Cornerstone Children's Home in Nimule, Sudan.  Will you sponsor a child living at this home?  Would you like to spend some time helping at the Cornerstone Children's Home?
